Committed to Community and Agricultural Advancement

Fall family future

Landus is proudly committed to the individuals, families and economic strength of the communities in which we operate.

As a cooperative, our purpose is to serve our farmer-owners and customers in these communities. That ownership stake is what makes us different from other vendors and suppliers. And it’s what drives us to invest in our communities by supporting students, education and a variety of organizations.

We care about the communities where we do business because that’s where we live. They’re literally the past, present and future of Landus and our farmer-owners.

Donations

Landus takes pride in giving back to our local communities. Our Core Grant program makes annual donations to the 4-H, FFA, fire and rescue and county fair boards in these local communities. On average, we contribute more than $100,000 back to our communities annually.

Each quarter the cooperative focuses on a different core group.

  • Core Grant Timeline:
    • County Fair Boards – Deadline in March
    • County 4-H – Deadline in June
    • FFA Chapters – Deadline in September
    • Fire & Rescue – Deadline in January

If your organization requests sponsorships, we would consider this grant the sponsorship.

You may request a donation from your Landus location by completing our donation request form online or in person. To ensure operation within our budget, Landus will only approve a limited number of the many requests received. Additionally, select larger projects can be requested and reviewed by our Board of Directors.

Frequently Asked Questions

You may submit donation requests at any Landus location at any time. We ask that you submit the request at least 4-6 weeks in advance to allow for review and processing. FFA, 4-H, county fair boards, and fire & rescue please see the Core Grant timeline above.

This information is necessary for instances where Landus may request an outside organization to match our donation. Your 501(c)(3) status and your 9-digit Federal Identification Number can be obtained from the Federal Treasury and is different from a tax-exempt form.

At the corporate level, completed donation requests are reviewed in each quarter. Locally, donations may be addressed more quickly.

Landus Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship

Thank you for your interest in the Landus Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship Program. This opportunity is offered to high school seniors in our territory who plan to obtain a post-secondary education in an agricultural-related field. These young leaders play a critical role in shaping agriculture in the coming decades.

Landus will be awarding five (5) one-year scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each. Recipients must enter an agriculture or life sciences program at the accredited post-secondary institution of their choice.

Scholarship recipients are chosen by an independent committee supervised by the Iowa College Student Aid Commission.

Applications are updated each winter.
