“From the time I could say truck at three years old, I knew I wanted to be a truck driver,” says Scott Greene.

Living out his childhood dream, Scott Greene has been transporting products for Landus Cooperative for nearly 14 years as a Delivery Specialist. His day starts bright and early at 6:30 a.m. when he departs to unload his first load of grain for the day.

“I try to be efficient and get back to a Landus Cooperative location before it closes at the end of the day to get the truck loaded so I can be the first one in line to unload when the plant opens in the morning” expressed Greene. Greene is a seasoned semi-truck driver. His career as a delivery specialist began right after he completed his education at North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City studying Agriculture Sales. With over 24 years of experience, he has transported many Iowa commodities for Landus Cooperative corn, soybeans and agronomy products! However, his favorite thing to haul is anhydrous.

“I like the challenge of knowing there is some pressure when hauling anhydrous because the window to apply to the crop is so short,” Greene shared. Every timely delivery of anhydrous is essential to Landus Cooperative’s business so we can accommodate our customer’s needs.

Greene explains that when he tells people about his job they seem to be surprised that he is home every night. “I’m home every night, the company treats me well, and gives me good equipment.”

Greene shares with job seekers that there are a variety of opportunities at Landus Cooperative. “At Landus Cooperative you’ll have a good local job, with a company that benefits your community,” as he serves the same community he lives in. Another perk, he mentions are the benefits. “Fun fact: our dental plan pays for half the cost of braces, shares Greene with 4 kids at home.

With over a two decades of experience, Scott Greene continues to live out his young aspiration of being a truck driver. His days of carpet farming as a three-year-old, have now transitioned to the daily grain deliveries on highways of Calhoun and surrounding counties.
