Landus Announces Award Recipients and Grants

DES MOINES, Iowa (June 15, 2023) — Five outstanding Landus employees were recognized for their effort and dedication at the Landus Brand Summit on March 25. Each award winner received a plaque presented by president and chief executive officer, Matt Carstens, and $250 donated to a nonprofit of their choice. 

“These awards are designed to highlight the hard work and dedication many Landus employees demonstrate, but these individuals deliver beyond what’s expected,” said Matt Carstens, president and CEO. “At Landus, we are committed to our communities, especially rural communities, where most of our employees live, work and contribute. We couldn't be prouder to donate to five local nonprofits in the names of these outstanding employees.” 

The five award winners, their roles at Landus and their hometowns are: 

The Landus Leader Award: Tyler Schultes, business unit leader, Carroll, IA: Tyler exhibits key leadership qualities such as superb team communication and inclusion, a dedication to the Landus vision, and a focus on high performance. He donated to Carroll Area Child Care Center. 

The Heart of Landus Award: Jeremy Gregory, custom applicator, Perry, IA; and Lars Erickson, delivery specialist, Bondurant, IA: Jeremy and Lars are dedicated, committed to safety, and steadfast in their spirit of service to the farmer-owner and to Landus. Jeremy donated to Woodward Granger FFA while Lars donated to the North Polk FFA. 

The Landus MVP Award: Janette Smith, GROW grain advisor lead, Boone, IA: Whether in revenue generation, expense reduction, or growth opportunity, Janette is focused on results and works through the correct channels and teams to accomplish goals. Janette donated to Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines. 

The Landus Way Award: Crystal Soyer, project specialist, Glidden, IA: The values of Landus are Agility, Courage, Teamwork, and Speed, which we refer to as The Landus Way. Crystal represents every aspect of #TheLandusWay. Crystal donated to the Carroll County Fair.
