Des Moines, Iowa (March 27, 2023) — Of the many events that have taken place within the historic walls of the Community Choice Credit Union Veteran’s Auditorium, Landus employees can list another monumental event they attended there. On Saturday, March 25, 2023, over 675 Landus employees and their guests were welcomed to the first-ever Landus Brand Summit. Attendees listened to speakers zero in on the direction Landus is heading, and five outstanding Landus employees were recognized for their efforts and dedication to their jobs and the cooperative. In addition, over 330 Landus employees and guests attended a Friday night Iowa Wild game at Wells Fargo, cheering as the Wild won in overtime.
The Brand Summit gathered staff from every Landus location, department, and team for a full day of presentations, activities, and Landus education. Messaging from keynote speakers delivered a comprehensive plan for where Landus is heading in the next five years.
Landus CEO, Matt Carstens, kicked off the event by addressing attendees with an opening keynote address that helped put the scope of Landus into perspective.
Matt’s opening remarks rolled into the essence of why we held the Brand Summit – to clearly define our brand across our organization.
- Future focused: We are an organization that will be on the forefront of technology and creating new opportunities for our farmer-owners and Landus.
- Downstream driven: We will continue to emphasize the importance of where the crop ends up and what end-users expect from it.
- Sustainable growth: Healthy, controlled growth that includes expansion outside of Iowa and accountability to budgets, our farmer-owners, communities, and each other.
- Rural champions: The vitality of the rural community is what keeps all of us thriving. By attracting people to rural America and showing how important agriculture is to the world, we’ll ask for all of us to be champions of their rural communities.
Along with these highlights, Matt unveiled a number of projects that are new to Landus that will earn the trust and commitment from the farmer-owners. Watch for more information in the coming weeks and months!
After presentations from other speakers like Iowa State University Head Wrestling Coach, Kevin Dresser, guests stayed for cocktails and international-themed food stations for dinner. To end the evening with an exclamation point, dueling pianos were the backdrop of song, dance, and celebration.
