County 4-H programs receive $1,000 to help off-set costs and enhance youth programs

AMES, Iowa (July 1, 2021) – Recently Landus awarded $23,000 as part of their quarterly core grant program. Twenty-three county 4-H programs across Iowa applied for and received $1,000 each from the farmer-owned cooperative.

“We are proud to support our community through the county 4-H programs,” said Matt Carstens, President and CEO. “Many of our farmer-members and customers, employees and their families are involved in the fair in some way. They play an important role in our communities because they focus on rural youth development and agricultural advancement.”

The farmer-owned cooperative started the core grant program four years ago as part of a quarterly philanthropy focus. “Landus values the experiences these county 4-H programs provide and appreciate effort to provide safe, affordable, quality and positive youth development in these rural communities," said Sarah Bunge, Donations & Scholarship Coordinator, who oversees the donation process at Landus.
