Landus Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship Winners 2025
Iowa and Minnesota high school seniors awarded for their dedication to advancing agriculture.
DES MOINES, Iowa (May 20, 2025) — Landus is investing in the future of agriculture by supporting the education of five high school seniors pursuing degrees in either agriculture or life sciences this fall. The Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship awards $2,000 to students in recognition of their academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to rural communities.
“These students have demonstrated a deep understanding of agriculture’s crucial impact on our world and are dedicated to advancing the industry in their respective disciplines,” says Sarah Heineman, Executive Director of Foundations at Landus. “We’re proud to support them as they begin their academic journey and look forward to seeing their impact on our industry in the years to come.”

Studying agricultural business and nursing at South Dakota State University
· Garrett McBeth, Gilbert High School, Gilbert, Iowa
Studying agricultural business and agronomy at Iowa State University
· Kayla Frederick, Greene County High School, Jefferson, Iowa
Studying agricultural communications at Iowa State University
· Lauren Inman, Creston High School, Creston, Iowa
Studying nursing at Southwestern Community College
· Laura Steinkamp, Kuemper Catholic High School, Carroll, Iowa
Studying agricultural communications at Iowa State University
To be eligible for the Excellence in Ag Scholarship, recipients must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, plan to pursue a degree in either agriculture or life sciences, and the applicant or their guardian must be a voting member of the cooperative in good standing.
