Getting to Know Landus: Dan Bjorklund

Today, Dan serves as an agronomist on the precision ag team, where he works closely with SkyScout to provide timely insights that help protect yield and support better decisions in the field.
“The 2025 growing season really highlighted the value of a system approach,” Dan says. “Using SkyScout helped us identify risks early and take action to preserve yield.”
One example came when SkyScout indicated the likelihood of a southern rust outbreak by mid July. By early August, Dan and the team encouraged an additional fungicide application. Farmers who followed the recommendation saw yield improvements ranging from 20 to 50 bushels per acre.
Dan is motivated by the opportunity to make a difference for farmers and for the teams he works alongside. Throughout his time at Landus, he has helped growers respond to a variety of agronomic challenges, including tar spot outbreaks in northeast Iowa and soybean cyst nematode pressure in recent seasons. In each case, his focus has been on providing practical recommendations that help farmers preserve yield and manage risk.
For Dan, the most rewarding part of his role is seeing technology and agronomic expertise come together to create real results.
“Each growing season brings new challenges,” he says. “Being able to help farmers take action at the right time is what makes this work meaningful.”
Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time fishing, gardening, and staying active in his church, where he teaches adult Sunday school and participates in a men’s group. Family plays a central role in his life, and he rarely misses an opportunity to support his grandchildren. From attending little league games and weekly gymnastics nights to traveling for field hockey tournaments, time with family is what Dan values most.
